There are some excellent museums in Santa Fe. You can buy a pass to all of them at any of them and that is the cheapest.

You want to see the Palace of the Governor which is on the square downtown, the Cathedral, the Loretto Chapel, the Bataan Memorial, any of 3 casinos. Also downtown is the Georgia O’Keefe Museum… OH… go to the Cowgirl Cafe for Lunch… and take the train ride down to Lamay… the depot is just another couple of blocks down the street from the cafe.

If you get tired of Santa Fe, you can go up to Los Alamos.. it’s a 35 mile drive and it’s where the first Atomic Bomb was designed and assembled (marker is just across the street from the Holiday Inn) and you can also visit some parts of the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory… or you can go to the Bradbury Museum… it’s on Central and has some really nice exhibits.

Back in Santa Fe, you can go just South of town and visit the Los Golindrinas living history farm and exhibit.

It takes a good week or 2 to see everything you can see in that area.

go to the square. check out the LaFonda hotel. there is an old church next to the lafonda that has a staircase with no apparent supports. lots of great shopping and art galleries off the square, down all the little side streets. be sure to walk through to the back of the stores, they often lead to other shops. the shop Ornament has beautiful jewelry.

there is also the Santa Fe opera house
the flea market is crap compared to the one in Alberquerque.

you can always go to the tourism bureau to see if there is something that catches your interest.

say hi to my aunts and uncles while you are there!
